Ordering from this site is very easy:

Go through the tool lists and find something you want.
Send email to steve@finetools.com or call me at 425- 868-1532 to check available and to hold the tool.
Shipping charges within the continental USA are generally $10 (larger tools requiring freight shipment are sold F.O.B. Seattle, so these large tools will be more than $10 to ship). For orders outside the continental USA, please email me with a list of the tools you want and your shipping location. Additional shipping charges to other countries will be due at cost. Contact me for exact shipping costs.
If you cannot receive a United Parcel Service (UPS) shipment -- for example, if you have only a P.O. box, or have other shipping restrictions, let me know on the order form.

When I receive your order form or email, I will hold the tool(s) for you (assuming they are not already sold!) until your check arives. Payment can also be in cash, money order, cashier's check (on an American bank), or personal check. Personal checks must clear before I can ship tools, so if time is critical to you, please consider a cashier's check! I can also accept Paypal if you add their 4% fee -- sometimes this is expedient if a tool needs to be delivered quickly

The nature of antique tools is that each one is unique. Once an item is sold, I cannot produce another one. But, if you miss out on an item, I will keep you in mind if I find another in the near future and offer you first opportunity to buy.

The most important thing to know when you order from me is that all tools are guaranteed complete and correctly described! Once you receive a tool, you have 7 days to examine it and decide whether or not you are satisfied. If you are not, let me know and return the tool to me for a selling price refund. (Shipping costs are not reimbursed.) In this case, please return the tool to me in the same condition as when you received it. (Tools damaged in shipping either way are your responsibility -- if you want insurance please be sure to ask -- there will be an extra charge for insurance.) Insuring the tool for its value protects you in case the tool is damaged in shipment.

I also now offer a tool layaway plan to assist those who canot afford to purchase their dream tool in one payment. I can be flexible with your payment schedule (just tell me what works for you), but the default is three equal payments (the price of the tool divided by 3), one a month. Shipping charges are added to the last payment. Upon full payment I ship the tool. To take advantage of this plan, simply follow the directions above and let me know you'd like to use the layaway plan.

Once I receive your order, I will send you confirmation mail, electronically if you have given me an email address, or via post if I only have a postal address. If you do not receive a timely confirmation, you can call me at 425- 868-1532 to find out what is going on.
